Miss Poo.... and no Pictures!

Today, we had another shower to go to. Mark had a golf tournament in Waco, but was here for most of the time for me to get myself ready for the shower. Phew! The shower was at 10:30 and Anna and I made it right on time. Soon after I got her out of her carseat, I realized she had gotten poo on her cute little sundress outfit. So, we got changed and cleaned up and got into the backup onesie (not nearly as cute) and had a bit to eat and enjoyed the shower... Anna mostly slept on my chest for the happenings. Then, when I was putting her back in her carseat to go, I realized she had pooed again and messed up her onesie and my shirt... but we just came home after that in our poo clothes! Then I decided it was high time for her first submerged bath!! She seemed to enjoy that and came out looking and smelling clean. I wonder how many more poos we will have today! Oh and the poos were so rapid, that I didn't even manage to get a picture of her in her cute outfit! Guess we will have to get one next time!

P.S. Happy 3 weeks to Anna!

A Boppy, a Bunny, and Anna

We are going to try to remember to take Anna's picture with this same bunny along the way, so you can see how she is growing. For this photo, we had to prop them up in the Boppy. Anna didn't seem to mind!

A Full Day of Fun

Anna had a busy day today. First, she went to Sunday school at 9:30 and slept like a good girl the whole time. Then she went to a baby shower for her friend, Noel's mommy, Stana. This is what she wore to both events. It is one of the cute outfits she got at her shower. YEA ruffles!! I love the little pantaloons!
After the party, we had to come home and get comfy again. Here are her legs hanging out lounging on Daddy's arms. I love her skinny little legs!! :D

Anna - Night and Day - and Happy Two Weeks!

This is Anna in her cradle... AT NIGHT... notice she is wide awake. haha Also note, this is what a photo looks like if you take it in the dark and cover the red eye light with your finger. This is Anna in her cradle... DURING THE DAY... notice she is passed out. I guess she is just keeping us on our toes. :D

Anywhere but THERE!

I love sleeping on Daddy's chest... and the couch... and a pallet on the floor... and in my carseat... but I don't like sleeping in my cradle at night!! But I am going to keep trying... just for Mommy :D

We are Home!!!

Just wanted to let you all know that we are indeed home! We were released this morning and have been settling in. Anna's bilirubin score was great after a night of being off the phototherapy, so we are very thankful for that! I'm sure I'll have some more pictures soon!

Another Video for Auntie Ang

Little Anna is doing good. We are still at the hospital, but her bilirubin number is coming down. We should be out by tomorrow, if all goes well. We just don't want to rush her now and risk having to come back! While we have been here and having her under the lights, we are trying to have very efficient feeds so we don't have her out of the lights too long. So, I usually feed for 20 mins and then also give her some more via the method seen in the video. It is too cute!

Bad Bad Bilirubin

Hi all - we are doing fine. We are on night number 2 back at the hospital. Anna has had 3 bilirubin tests and her level is slowly, but surely coming down. YEA! She has another test at 5am and we will see how it goes. She still has a little ways to go before we will be released. Hope everyone is doing great!

Back to the Tanning Bed

Today Anna had a nice sponge bath. She liked it because we had the bathroom all nice and toasty with my little space heater. I thought this was a cute shot.
After bath, we put on her cute onesie that my friend, Melanie, made her. I don't know if you can tell from how I took the picture, but it has her initial on it and a cute bow around that makes her look like our little wrapped up present :)

Then we went for our doctor's checkup and the doc checked all her little parts and everything looked good on that front. But as you can tell from the pics, she is still a little jaundiced and the test for that came back a bit high, so we are now back at the hospital with her under the lights. Luckily, we got a room and she is in the room here with us and under her lights here and I can feed her when I need to and there are little side holes to open and hold her hand or comfort her when I need to without taking her out of the lights. She is eating good and doesn't seem to mind her little tanning bed because it is warm and she has little rolled towels in an oval around her so she feels fairly enclosed and safe. Her levels should come down over the course of the next day or two and if all goes well, we should just be here 24 to 48 hours. We will keep you posted!

Couldn't Resist This One...

Anna's Great Aunt Barbie got her this cute, teeny dress. We had to play dress-up a little bit today and see how it looked. In this pic you can see Anna's legs that closely resemble her Mommy, JuJu & Great Aunt Barbie. :)

Finally Coming Home!

So, finally around 6:30pm last night we got to come home! Here is a close up of Anna in her carseat.
And here's a cute one... we did give her a blanket. :) Her socks were way too big, but I didn't have any others washed and ready to go! She didn't mind the trip home once she got settled in the car.
And here's the new family heading inside their home!
We got Anna cozy in her Swaddle Me blanket and took a few photos. Here's one in her crib.
And one more in her crib...
One on her changing table. Isn't she little? :)
And one more in her cradle!

We went to her pediatrician this morning so they could check her jaundice level and it looked pretty good. She is doing great!

Hurry Up and Wait

Well, I was released about 7:30am this morning by my doctor (but still get to stay in my room) and we have been waiting all day for the official release of Miss Anna. She has been out of the lights since they brought her to us about 11am and has been with us since. We are just waiting for the pediatrician's final word after her blood test that they will give her about 4:30, we think. Then the pediatrician should hopefully be here around 5:30 (keep your fingers crossed) and THEN maybe we can go home! At least we have had Anna with us in the room for most of the day :)

Some Family Portraits

Here is a nice close-up of Anna and her hair. :D And here's Anna's almost grandparents - Ernestine & Leonard. Do they look happy or what?
And a nice one of Anna, Daddy & Granny Jannie.
And here is Anna, Papa & JuJu
And Anna, Daddy & Mommy

Anna had a little jaundice so we didn't go home today, but are taking our full 48 hours available. Anna should be ready to go home tomorrow, if all goes well! We are excited to get home and settle in.

A Couple More...

Here is Daddy changing my diaper! It wasn't wet... but while he had it off, I wet the changing table!

And below is a little video for Auntie Ang who is an ocean away and is sad she doesn't get to see me in person right now! I do hope everyone else enjoys it, too :) And Mommy apologizes - She's going to have to watch her baby talk - especially on video!

Anna's Debut

Thanks to popular demand, I ran home and got the USB cord for the camera so everyone could get their first glimpse of Anna Elise. She was brought into this world at 9:00am on the dot (very punctual) today, May 10th. She weighed in at 6lbs, 7.5 oz, and was 19 inches long (although Daddy believes she was a bit taller). As you can see she has nice long hair, and under the swaddling she is hiding some long legs!

Here is a picture of Anna just seconds after she was born, while getting her swaddling put on.

This is Dr. Tracey Banks, our wonderful doctor. If you are having a baby born in McKinney, we would highly recommend her practice, North Central Women's Health Partners.

Here is the first family portrait of Mommy, Daddy and Anna.

Finally, when all was safe, the Grandmothers came in to see the object of their spoiling in the next few years.

Baby Anna Elise has arrived

Born at 9am on the dot, the vitals are not back to us yet, but baby and mother are healthy and happy. Daddy can officially report that she is now the most beautiful baby ever born. Pictures will follow as soon as we get to a USB cord.

Baby Anna is on her way!

This morning Sarah woke up around 2:30am and found that her water had broken. Shortly after, we called the doctor and were informed it was time to come on in!

Everything looks good on the monitor, and Sarah is feeling as good as expected when expecting, so we will keep you posted.

Baby looks great on the monitors, and will likely be joining us today!

8 months - a couple days late!

Well, I turned 8 months about 2 days ago, but forgot to take my picture! Here I am today... she is growing!!

Doctor Quote of the Day

Today at my appt, the doctor said, 'Don't walk too fast, or the baby might fall out.' haha So, I'm still on bedrest... I had progressed a bit and contractions are still happening. We are still hoping to keep Miss Anna inside til at least May 16. :)

Did I Party Too Hard?

This past weekend, Anna had a wonderful shower in Waskom, at my Aunt Barbara's house. Here we are! Everything was beautiful! Thank you, Auntie!!And here's a photo op with my cousin, Julie. Before the shower, we were talking and Aunt Barbara pulled out of her freezer... the candies she had saved from Julie's baby shower... yes, when Julie was a baby, some 25 + years ago... Yes, Auntie is a pack rat :D
And here is a shot with the grandmothers! On the lovely spiral staircase there, you can see the yummy petit fours!! I had two - they were soooo yummy!
So, the shower was yesterday and we drove home last night... Today, I had a doctor's appt ... we had an ultrasound and everything looked good! And we also had a fetal heart monitor test where everything looked good... but from that, they did see that I had 3 contractions during the 30 min test, so then the doc checked me and the baby is very low and was looking a little too close to coming out. ha! So, I got put on bedrest for two weeks. She would be fine if she was born now, but they would prefer her to stay in another two weeks, so that is what we are trying to accomplish. Now I get lots of pampering from my sweet husband. He is currently at the store buying some supplies for easy meals and such. :)
