We Have Kicks!

Baby Update - 21 Weeks

We are past the halfway mark now! Anna is doing good. In the past week I have felt what I know for sure are good little kicks and Mark has also gotten to feel some. It is exciting :) She weighs about 3/4 of a pound and is about 10 1/2 inches long. She's about the length of a large banana.

A Little Behind (No, not Anna's!)

I am a little behind on posting these, but better late than never! On New Year's Day, Angela & I drove to Texarkana to meet our friend Amanda and her daughter, Clara. Here is Clara posing at the Olive Garden. Later that evening, we got together with our high school friends, Amy, Melanie & Angela. On the left is Melanie's boy, Nathan, and beside him is Amy's boy, Caden. I think Nathan was going for the smile and Caden was trying to look manly.

Cameron Crazy tonight!

Tonight I had the opportunity to enjoy one of the most revered sporting events in the US. Cameron Indoor Stadium is the home arena for Duke University, and the team that plays there are known as the Blue Devils. Duke is consistently ranked among the best teams in college basketball, and the students at Duke reward them with a very loud and imposing crowd for each home game. They are so raucous in fact, that they have come to be known as "Cameron Crazies". Luckily for me, I became an honorary Crazie for one night, and got a photo with the Blue Devil to prove it!

Anna in Profile

Hi all! Despite all the great name suggestions we received, we have decided her name is Anna. :) Here is little Anna's profile. You can see her little nose sticking up and at one point she had her hand up to it and the doctor said her finger was in her nose! Mark said 'That's my girl!' :)

Slippers & Sweats

I just went out to run a couple of errands (where I didn't need to leave the car) in my sweats and slippers. Then I remembered I needed some milk, so I went to the pharmacy and parked in the Expectant Mother spot and went in wearing the slippers... it felt quite decadent. I promise I wouldn't have parked there if it was busy or there were no other close spots!! And I do have to go to work later, so I won't be in sweats and slippers all day.... :D

Well.... It's a.... GIRL!

Today we went for our big ultrasound and it was our first look at the baby. It was so much more exciting in person than the pictures show! Seeing it moving all around!! The tech took all sorts of measurements and for awhile she didn't think we would get to find out the sex, since the legs were close and feet were together everytime we looked. Baby also hadn't shown us a face or profile... but just as we were almost done, she flipped over and here is her face... then we got a better look at other things and the tech said she wouldn't absolutely guarantee it, but is pretty sure she's a girl! Here in the picture, she looks all cozy tucked in on her side there... Mark said she looked like an alien baby... oh well :D

Feeling Smurfy

Today, as I was driving from my hometown back to Dallas, I got honked at by a trucker. First of all, it has been a really long time since this has happened... and second of all, I was wearing a sweat suit. Poor guy - he must have been really lonely to honk at this old, pregnant lady in a sweatsuit!! But I have to say my sweatsuit is indeed a very pretty smurfy color. Maybe that is what did it!
