Doctor Quote of the Day

Today at my appt, the doctor said, 'Don't walk too fast, or the baby might fall out.' haha So, I'm still on bedrest... I had progressed a bit and contractions are still happening. We are still hoping to keep Miss Anna inside til at least May 16. :)

Did I Party Too Hard?

This past weekend, Anna had a wonderful shower in Waskom, at my Aunt Barbara's house. Here we are! Everything was beautiful! Thank you, Auntie!!And here's a photo op with my cousin, Julie. Before the shower, we were talking and Aunt Barbara pulled out of her freezer... the candies she had saved from Julie's baby shower... yes, when Julie was a baby, some 25 + years ago... Yes, Auntie is a pack rat :D
And here is a shot with the grandmothers! On the lovely spiral staircase there, you can see the yummy petit fours!! I had two - they were soooo yummy!
So, the shower was yesterday and we drove home last night... Today, I had a doctor's appt ... we had an ultrasound and everything looked good! And we also had a fetal heart monitor test where everything looked good... but from that, they did see that I had 3 contractions during the 30 min test, so then the doc checked me and the baby is very low and was looking a little too close to coming out. ha! So, I got put on bedrest for two weeks. She would be fine if she was born now, but they would prefer her to stay in another two weeks, so that is what we are trying to accomplish. Now I get lots of pampering from my sweet husband. He is currently at the store buying some supplies for easy meals and such. :)

Rough Riders!

I was going to wait to blog this til I had my pictures, but guess I will add one or two later! Last Friday, Mark and I went to the Frisco Rough Riders baseball game. They are a minor league team with a stadium just a few miles away from us. It was a fun night. Mark splurged on some great tickets and I had a foot long hot dog that hit the spot. :) Unfortunately, they lost to Corpus Christi, but we enjoyed it and will definitely go back sometime! There were even fireworks at the end of the game... and it is a very nice stadium!

Also, we are looking forward to a hockey team coming even closer to us. We live about 3 mins from an outlet mall and Hwy 75 and just across from 75 on the other side of the outlet mall, they are currently building another mall. Somewhere in the midst of that, there is going to be a hockey arena! So, we will definitely have fun making our way to some of those games when the arena is built!

Enhance your Vocabulary & Help Others!

My Aunt sent me this website recently and I thought it was a great one! She said it was featured on CBS - It's called http://www.freerice.com/ and every time you get the answer correct for a vocabulary word, it donates 20 grains of rice through the UN World Food Program to help end hunger. Yesterday, I donated 1000 grains of rice... I won't tell how many answers I got incorrect. :D

It's Already Coming Back to Me

I used to tease my parents about renting a movie they'd already seen or not knowing if they'd seen a movie... Well, I have to confess I've done that more than once recently with my Netflix... I've gotten a movie in and then realized I've already seen it! Guess that's what I get! :) I choose to blame Netflix, though... cause we cancelled our membership for awhile in hopes that they would invite us back for a discount. They didn't, so we finally broke down and reapplied for it in Mark's name, so our queue was gone and list of movies we had seen... oh well! :)

Anna Gets More Cute Stuff!

Today was the shower for Anna thrown by my Sunday school class in Dallas. It was very sweet! Here's my mom and I by the food/punch table. It was fun chocolate fondue and lots of things to dip in the fondue. There were three flavors of chocolate - milk chocolate, peanut butter chocolate and white chocolate!
Here's my little helper that brought my gifts to me - isn't she cute? Before we started gifts, there were little prayer cards passed out to about 7 folks and each card had a stage of Anna's life to pray for. It was very sweet and made me cry. The stages were like - her birth, her childhood, teen years, future husband, etc.
Here's me with the dust ruffle Mom made. Anna's crib is nearly ready! She also got lots of cute clothes and all sorts of other fun items at the shower today!

The Gang's Almost All Here!

After I got some advice from my interior designer friend, I hung up my shelves today. And most of the Beatrix Potter gang I ordered on ebay has arrived. Peter Rabbit, Benjamin Bunny, Jemima Puddleduck, Hunca Munca, and Flopsy, Mopsy & Cottontail are all in place. We're still waiting on Tom Kitten. :)I also got some frames 50% off at Hobby Lobby today and put these prints in and hung them up. They are fairly straight. :)
