A Fun Evening with Friends

Tonight we invited some friends over for steaks cooked on the big green egg.  The kids had fun playing!

C'mon, Anna!  Let's go play!

Hmm... do they look like they've been caught?

The cookie cake really seemed to be the highlight of the night for the girls...

Anna's Gonna be a Big Sister!

Hi all!  You may have noticed the new top picture... and yes, it's true!  Anna is going to be a big sister!  We are due the day after her birthday (May 11) but could very well have an April baby if this one's early like Anna!  She likes to kiss the baby, but I imagine she doesn't totally grasp the concept, yet, despite how excited she looks in the pics :D

A Day at the Texas State Fair!

We had a great day today!  We started out with Ang & Amanda running the Vineyard 5K!  They did great and Ang's time was like 3 mins faster than her personal best so far!

Then we went straight to the State Fair!!  First we went to the Kidway area with the kids' rides.  Many of the rides just required you to be 30", so Anna even got to ride!  Here's me, Clara & Anna on the hot air balloon.

Ang, Amanda, Clara & Anna then rode the big crazy teddy bear.

Here's me, Anna & Clara on the whale.

Ang rode these planes with Clara and Anna... you even had to be 32" for this one and Anna barely made the cut.  Ang said it was quite a bit higher and faster than she thought!

This was the bottom of the big slide that Clara did by herself.  Thought it was a great action shot.

Here's Clara on the canoe by herself.  Anna was too short for this one, but that was good because it didn't even have a strap and Anna would totally have been standing up and jumping overboard!

Then we went to the Little Hands Farm thing where the kids put on their aprons and went through and gathered up items and fed corn to the cows and such... it was a free and really cute exhibit.  At the end they even got paid a '$1' for their work and were able to trade that in for a treat.

Along the way, Anna got so used to picking up things and putting them in her basket, that she picked the decorative flower.  Oops!!  We put it right back!

This was at the end where they delivered a little bag of feed to the cow or pig.

Next we went to the petting farm, which was also free.  There were a lot of cool animals, including a baby giraffe and a baby zebra.  Here the girls are feeding a llama.
I guess she is proud of herself for being such a good girl at the fair!

This might have been my personal favorite part of the fair :D

A Morning in Farmers Branch

This weekend our friends Clara and Amanda are here for a visit. YEA!  This morning we decided to go check out this place called Farmers Branch Historical Park.  It was fun, but none of the houses were open to go into and there seemed to be no one working there.  The girls had fun running around wild, though.

Thank you, PaPa!!

My nephew got to go visit JuJu & PaPa and try out the new swingset!  I think he likes it!  And I believe his outfit says 'Totally Cuter than my Dad'.  haha!  I love it, Daniel!
