New Guest Room Quilt!

Mom finished the quilt I commissioned for our guest room. Hooray!! Isn't it pretty? It is going to look lovely :)

Chairs and Eggs

Recently Anna has been enjoying climbing into and sitting in chairs... so I had to get her this little folding chair.She found this one she liked at the mall today.And we also really enjoyed this cool play area at Willowbend. This is Anna with her friend, Cathryn, on the big grapefruit... don't know who the little boy is. :)
And we had to take this one for Anna's Daddy.

Another Beauty!

And here's another generation of 1st birthday parties!! My mom's! She is on the far right and that's her sister, Rita, next to her. Her two cousins, Kenneth and Wayne are eyeing the cake.

I heard on the radio about the Hot Air Balloon Festival in Anna, TX... which is about 20 mins drive from us, so we thought we'd check it out. We got there too early and there wasn't much to do for Anna... we did ride the carousel and then we played in the park closeby, but by then it was only 4:30 and the balloons weren't going to launch til 6:30 (we thought it was 6), so we decided to go eat dinner somewhere... but they said we'd have to pay our $15 to park again if we came back, so we just decided to save the hot air balloon experience for later!

Instead, we decided to go to the downtown square in McKinney and wander around a bit and find some dinner. We ate at a place called The Pantry Restaurant and had a lovely time wandering around. Apparently there is some McKinney thing with these frogs, cause they were in front of several businesses... Anna liked this one in front of the Londoner Pub. :)

Dutch Treat!

Anna decided it would be fun to wear her wooden shoes that her JuJu and Papa got for her on their vacation awhile ago. Isn't she great in them?

Playgroup at the Splash Park

Today we had playgroup at a neighborhood park with a little water play area. Some of the kiddies weren't too sure about it... and Anna mainly had fun trying to steal things out of everyone's bags or playing in the drain rather than the water, but she did have fun :) The water was a little cool, but it was nice and warm outside!

Here's Anna in one of her new outfits she got for her birthday :) And here she is in the Batmobile as we headed to Garden Ridge to look for patio furniture.
All we bought so far were two nice swivel/rocker patio chairs. Anna had a lot of fun helping us put those together!

Anna got a lot of fabulous clothes and toys for her birthday. YEA! She didn't get her present from us til we got back home... it was this kitchen. She seems to like it - especially the phone! Here's a couple more of her toys... for awhile I thought she was kinda scared of plush animals, but she seems to be getting over that and has taken to a couple of dolls that she carries around and pats on the back. Here's Strawberry Shortcake...

PaPa Does Animal Noises

Hope you are as impressed with PaPa's animal noises as Anna was... I mean, after all, he DID grow up on a farm!

Today was Anna's first birthday party. I can't believe my baby turns one year old tomorrow! We had a wonderful day celebrating with friends and family in Waskom... and several that came from many miles away to celebrate. Anna had a blast. I am too tired to do a complete blog, but here are a couple of pictures to hold you over til I have more time.This is the crew of my high school friends and kids.

Swimming at Granny's

Yesterday Anna and her cousin, Nathan, went swimming at Granny Janny's. They had fun!

I think Nathan had more fun after he got out of the pool and decided to put every noodle into the pool.

And here I think Anna was showing us her good side... or protecting the noodles!

Long Time No Post

Sorry it's been awhile since I posted! We are now in Waskom. On the trip here, we stopped at a new fancy gas station where Anna found this chair that was just her size! And here was me experimenting with Anna's hair.
