Yabba Dabba Doo!

This year, we decided to be the Flintstones. I bought Mark & Anna's outfits online and Mom made mine. Ang's cousin, Liz, did the gorgeous job on my hair. I need to see if I have a better side pic cause it was totally awesome :D I found one! It's at the bottom :) Tonight we went to our church's fall festival and worked at the rock climbing wall - luckily we just handed out candy and didn't have anything to do with the wall! We wandered around there a bit and mostly people would just look at us and start laughing :D Then we came home and gave away all our candy in about 45 mins and had to turn out the light and come inside. Anna seemed to enjoy the evening (she slept in my front carrier a little bit during the festival). She is now sound asleep! Happy Halloween everyone and Yabba Dabba Doo!!

Mom has started making some fun baby items like this sling. She wanted to see how it worked, so Anna and I demonstrated. I'm not sure what Anna is thinking. :) Sunday, as I was trying to pack up, I knew Anna needed a nap... and JuJu did, too! So, I sent them to nap together. I'm not sure who is napping harder!

A Little Laughing

I've known for some time that Anna's favorite book is a Dr. Suess that Aunt Stana gave her, Mr. Brown Can Moo, Can You? I haven't read it to her in a few days and I've never gotten quite this response before... but she didn't do this for the book that was read before or after this one.

Maybe Anna just needed a laugh after her earlier experience today. If you remember, the poll for her first veggie was a tie between squash and sweet potatoes. I went ahead with squash since I thought it would be not as tasty. Anna didn't seem to think it was as tasty as rice cereal or oat cereal. Poor baby :)

She gagged after almost every bite, but she was a trooper and ate about half the container. :D

We Are Not Amused

I think that is what Anna is saying to her Dad here. Mark was very sweet today helping me out some... I was trying to get a lot of stuff done... and while I was transferring some laundry and needing to get to the store, he changed her diaper and outfit. When I went in, I saw that her shirt was on backwards... I started laughing and went to get the camera. Then I came back and thought for some reason, that I should check her pants and yep, they were on backwards, too. Good try, though, honey! :D

Playgroup at the Park!

Today we went to the park for playgroup with some friends. Anna had fun swinging next to Rachel and I think that is Jonah in the background. It was a fun park called Frisco Commons Park.

Swingin' and Slidin'

Today we took Anna for a little time at the park. She had fun in the baby swing and on the slide with her Mom and Dad.

And We Add Oats!

Today I decided to add oat cereal to Anna's diet. Yes, I'm just making this up as I go along... I'm creating Sarah's Plan for Feeding from a combo of the different things I'm told from different sources. She seemed to also enjoy the oat cereal. :) She'll be sowing her wild ones soon. :|

The Learning Walker!

Today, I put together a toy that Anna got at her shower. It says 6+ months, but she is so advanced, I thought I'd better put it together now! heehee She seemed to like it! Do you think she keeps looking over to make sure I'm watching?

A New Era

I realize that now Anna has new tricks every day. For the past few days, she reaches for everything around her... And today, I was trying to put the groceries away, so I put her in the Bumbo (yes, I realize I should not put it on raised surfaces and after her recent shenanigans, I plan to only put it on the floor). I put something in the freezer and turned back around and she had managed to grab the open baggie that was in a container next to her and spill its entire contents (it was full of coke tabs that I am saving for Grammastine's school kids). I was fairly impressed. I immediately put her on the floor in her bumbo where nothing was in reach!!

Really Rolling

Anna now definitely has the rolling from back to tummy thing figured out. Any time she is awake and gets put on her back, she pretty quickly manages to roll to her tummy. But then she sometimes gets mad and can't roll back!

Some Showering and Visiting with Friends

Yesterday, we went to two different showers - one baby and one bridal. At the bridal shower, two of Anna's Aggie friends were there. Here she's saying, 'I am so glad my friends are here... but they don't want Dolly Llama, do they?'

And here's Conner... he's like, 'What am I doing at this tea party with all these girls?!? Oh wait... good odds!' :D

Then Noel came over to spend the night and Anna said, 'She's nice! I want to eat her!'

Then they just chilled a bit and talked things over.

Introducing.... Dolly Llama!

The votes have been cast and the polls are closed. We had a nice showing all around for each and every name, and Llama took first with 14 votes, Dolly came in 2nd with 13, Holly got 9, Carol 8, and Sophie Blackmoor came in with a respectable 5. So, I've decided, that Dolly will have a 1st name of Dolly and last name of Llama... and sometimes Anna's Mommy may just call her Dolly for short. :D Now... let's see what I can come up with for my next poll. The Excitement of Rice Cereal

Tonight, on Anna's 5 month birthday, she got to have her first rice cereal. And here's a little clip for you.

She really did seem to enjoy it and she ate every bite of it (except the bit that ran down her chin and soaked into her bib). :) She kept trying to 'help' me put the spoon in her mouth... then towards the end, she's like... 'Just give me the bowl and I'll drink it! You're too slow, Mama!'

Bustin' a Sag

Yesterday, I unhooked Anna's overalls for some reason and put her in her bumbo when I realized she had a little sag going on.

Playing in the Pumpkin Patch

Saturday in Lubbock, we took the kids to the pumpkin patch to try and catch some photos. Auntie Ang got some great shots of Anna smiling! Here's one... Here's one of Jared and his brother, Cade.And another cute one of Jared.And here is poor Cade saying, 'Mommy - I wish this girl would stop touching me!! Now she's eating my hand and I can't get it back!!'
Anna says, 'Mommy stop twisting my arm! I don't want to hold this pumpkin and smile.'Cade was worn out from trying to take pics in the patch, so we brought the patch to him.And here is Anna worn out from posing in the patch... but I think she did have fun :)

A Weekend in Lubbock

This weekend we went to Lubbock to visit my friend, Brandy. She has a 3-yr-old, Jared and a new baby, Cade, who's exactly 2 months younger than Anna. We went to the pumpkin patch on Saturday and got a few cute pics that I'll post tomorrow, but here's one for tonight. I think Cade is saying, 'Mom! That girl's touching my leg!!'

Happy, Happy News!
